out for the organic

today was a long and lovely day: first a venture out the dean gallery for some post-cubist art and into the quaint and ancient dean village and its outlying footpaths; next to the royal botanic gardens to see some paintings by john cage and some plants of course. i made a lot of friends today: a scottish man with a dog by the riverside, a few male mallards, a kitty, two magpies (at right; i inexplicably but greatly adore magpies), a million and twelve young smiling couples with one daughter, LOTS of trees, a hoary & impressively bearded man on the street who told me i was "an elegant woman" (i think wearing boots gives me an urban stride?), as well as my old coworkers at mp's bistro who i visited to their great excitement. i also ended up getting lost in leith, which is some roughness in a city if i ever saw it (and really, i rather haven't). but i found my way, and walked just everywhere, and my feets are sore guys, i think i shall go nurse them. enjoy the media, though undoubtedly the real life experience was far rosier, greener, leafier.
(perhaps you cannot tell what is so alarming at the left , but wow, these leaves were big enough to be a blanket for me.)
