sated

a sunday lovely as they should be: first, a lunch with friends bari, ryan and vic - supposed to be at 2pm, but when i arrived they were all still asleep; a siesta until 6:30, then, by hours of shopping, preparation and satiating.
(this plate contains mashed potatoes, leeks, exquisite mushroom tart, asparagus, doughy roll- among other elements of craft like rosemary, thyme, orange juice, mustard etc; ryan is full of vision)
second, i decided to go out and explore the very strange roof terrace halfway down our building. there was an ancient bill posted saying that the space was not a playpark for scooters or skaters, but rather for access to drying lines and ...something rubbed out. i am hoping it said "for reading books in the sunshine." i am going to go ahead and assume that's what it said, probably starting tomorrow. still can't figure out what the huge duct is for, but because my flat is right above a big and old art cinema, maybe it's to do with their tall ceilings and ventilation needs. can't wait for my pigeon companions:

yes, that must be true. if it's any comfort, the others all had a few slabs of meat in the pile under those asparagus heads instead of a mushroom tart :)
