there is news

today in my divinity school class my professor informed us that he has pushed back the due date for our long essay until march 23rd. which means that i don't have two 10 page papers due on the same day anymore! wow. i feel such relief, which is funny because i still have a whole lot to do. but at least i can think a little bit harder or just longer about the subject matters now. so i guess that pretty much renders my little time breakdown there inaccurate, but you can fill in the new blanks i imagine.

my presentation today on nietzsche went pretty well...i think? it's so impossible to tell here. my hoary professor has written like eight books on the man, so i'm not sure what that means for me, but it all seemed engaged enough. my classmates were like, wow that was so detailed! well done, thanks! blahdyblah...but i don't imagine that means too much, because i don't think they even did the reading. it's nice to hear though. the discussion wasn't quite full of its usual alacrity, but i think partially that's because three usually loud people weren't there and because nietzsche likes to get ahead of himself often. i am happy above all to have checked a big thing off of the to do list.

a new jerseyan ph.d. student in my class today who got a business degree at upenn and a theology masters at cambridge asked me if i was headed to law school after this, because i seemed like that kind of person. weird- that's never happened to me before. maybe different sides of me come out in a philosophy class.

supposedly everywhere else in the uk today is clothed in little and probably thin snow blankets; of course here it is only rain, with that trusty guardian of the north sea. back i go out into it to learn about some buildings and wait on some tables and then, finally, return home to get more than the three hours of sleep currently sustaining me. au revoir -
