goodbye, old and delicate wire frames who for years served me so well until you inexplicably broke. i will miss you dreadfully on those days when i want to look classy and intelligent rather than hip and stylish- it is quite sad that they cannot solder you back together.in other news, i've had a weird day. i went to work and then put the finishing touches on my sociology paper, though i'm not sure if it turned out to be the right thing, because it is a personal piece but also supposed to be academic. these social disciplines are so wishy-washy, it is quite intolerable. today in my social anthropology lecture the scottish guy i ended up sitting next to and borrowing some paper from asked me if my saying that i was taking the class as an outside course because edinburgh wouldn't give me many literature courses meant that i was a "keen bean" - i told him yes, something like that. shortly thereafter the lecture was interrupted by this other-worldly melodious wailing turned into gutteral, struggling breaths - i believe someone was having a fit or a seizure. we were soon dismissed, but unfortunately i don't really know what happened because it is something like a 300 person class and we were trying not to make any further commotion. i do know that 999 was called and were on their way, so hopefully it was okay in the end.
then i came home and hoovered my room, as they say here, and did some dishes, and now i have to think about going to prague for the first time. off to pack and to catch up on sleep i go - i promise much reporting in various media is in store for my readers when i return on tuesday. wish me happy travelling!

sorry about your glasses.
the worst part is, people can look in and now you can't look out.
hope you've got a backup pair.
