so how excited am i that we turn the clocks back tonight and gain an hour so that i can have longer to write my essay about why bodies are an important subject of anthropological study and sex, as in biological differences between bodies, is only a cultural construction? so excited, i promise.
congrats to my dad, who turned 50 yesterday, and i must say he is in pretty solid condition for someone thirty years older than myself. now's the time for him to start putting out the greatest thought and literature of his life, right. considering that he spent his big day busy being the boss at work per usual, i won't hold my breath, but all i'm saying is that it would be nice : )
you may share in my happiness to know that when i return to charlottesville next year, i am living in a house(!) with great friends rachel and quintin, plus a few unknown others, and also possibly another great friend in rachel's newly acquired and adorable kitty delilah, if they let us have her. it's great to have this plan to come back to so that i can make a happy home again at uva, and what's more i wish i could express how happy it would make me to have a kitty around at college. there are very few animals in edinburgh - pigeons are really the lot of it - and i miss them dreadfully. a shoutout to my favorite fat kitty emmy - it is no lie, i actually posted this picture on ratemykitten.com
back to the faithful onward and upward trudge through bodies and rites and the distinctions between Sex, sex and gender. until halloween-
p.s. i go to starbucks in edinburgh a lot, way more than i did when i was back in the states, which was practically never, becuase i like the way their drinks hold together more than the european big brands. is this a cop out?
